Carla Blankenship has long held an interest in math, which led her to study Theoretical Mathematics at Tennessee Technological University. Upon getting married during her course of study, she transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics and minored in Computer Science.

These two interests merged as she worked in the software test industry, discovering bugs in software programs. However, upon learning that her child would need more individualized instruction, she left the field behind to homeschool her children. In doing this, she discovered a hidden talent for teaching.

Carla brings more than 10 years of experience in the teaching field to the team. Since 2005, she has taught while also involved in various homeschool and cooperative school activities. She specializes in math, which she has taught to all levels of students from middle school through high school, in all areas from Pre-Algebra up to Calculus.

In addition to raising her children and teaching, she has hosted photography workshops and classes for students and adults alike. When not assisting others in a classroom setting, Carla is passionate about many things. She volunteers at church, helps her daughter’s swim team, and trains for races at Disney.
